In Bollywood, of course, and what we are promised in this lively looking film is, indeed, a Bollywood musical revamp of the book, featuring the Indian superstar Aishwarya Rai as a farmerΓÇÖs daughter who falls for an American Mr Darcy (Martin Henderson). Directed by Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham), it seems sure to be a hit, so maybe we can expect more Bollywood spins on literary classics.
